  • Excessive motion
  • Pressure
  • Weight bearing resistance with activity

Every patient is different so our physical therapists develop an individualized plan for each and every one of our patients to ensure their regimine is personalized. The main piece of advice we have for our patients is to simply be good to your joints. In both our offices in Oceanside and Smithtown we recommend that if you are feeling pain the best thing to do is recognize that and take action to solve it instead on continuing through the pain. Joint stressors can be caused by many things that can be easily overlooked as a source of pain. We recommend some simple tips such as:

  • Don’t sit or stand for too long of intervals
  • When lifting heavy objects allocate the weight to the uninjured parts of your body
